Stolen Toyota Quickly Recovered
A 1987 Toyota Forerunner,
stolen on the main highway in front of the Sand Bar on Wednesday night,
Nov. 19, was recovered less than 24 hours later when spotted from the
air in the bushes South of Los Cerritos beach. Adam, a surfer who lives
next to Cabo Extreme in Pescadero, went to the all you can eat pizza
night for dinner and drinks, and when he came out discovered his vehicle was missing. He
reported it to the local authorities, and later asked me to help in an
air search over the town of Pescadero and surrounding area. We started
flying up the San Pedritos arroyo, South of Pescadero, scouring the
entire town of Pescadero by air, and searching inland to the mountain
ranges and surrounding ranches. I finally spotted the vehicle parked in
the bushes about 100 meters off the highway, South of Los Cerritos
beach. Unfortunately we did not catch the thieves, but did get the
vehicle back. The bandidos were able to steal the battery and mirrors, and were probably
coming back to completely strip the car later that night. Adam was very
lucky to get his vehicle back. There have been other incidents of
people not so lucky, usually from not locking their vehicles.
I was
contacted to search for a silver stolen Toyota.

After searching the entire town
of Pescadero and local foot hills, I spotted the vehicle in the
bushes, about 100 meters off the main highway, just South of Los
Cerritos beach club.

The battery and
side mirrors were stolen, and the thieves were probably coming
back later that night to totally strip the vehicle.
